FUNDRAISING EVENTS
In the past our Sub Sale was a service opportunity that all students and families were asked to participate in. Due to the change in sales and times we are trying something new. The Band Directors ask each band student to volunteer for at least one Band Boosters event during the year. The events that are currently planned which will need student volunteers are: Arts and Crafts Festival, Chicken Barbecue, and Meat Raffle. A sign up genius will be sent out from the Clarence Band Boosters emails with these opportunities. Band Boosters will post other opportunities for families to support with basket raffles, gift cards and concession supplies throughout the year. Participation in the fundraisers is voluntary. Most of the fundraisers that Band Boosters sponsor allows the students to earn money for their individual trip accounts. Many students have paid a portion, or all, of the biennial trips by participating in the fundraisers. If a student graduates with money left in their account, it will be transferred to a sibling in the band program. If there is none, the money must be transferred to the general fund. The treasurers keep track of the deposit of funds into student accounts.
ARTS & CRAFTS CONCESSIONS/BASKET RAFFLE
This event was sponsored by the Clarence Arts and Crafts Festival. We have been asked to sell concessions similar to our summer concert concessions. The students visit each vendor and ask them for a lunch/snack order. The students then delivery those to the vendors as they are unable to leave their spot during the festival. The Arts and Crafts Association does a basket raffle during the event. They ask that we donate baskets for this event as well. A portion of the profits are donated to Band Boosters. Mark Morgado and Evonne Michel are chairing this event.
CHICKEN BARBEQUE
Held annually in October. This year’s date is October 13th. Each band student is able to earn profits from this sale for their trips. They may sell as many as they wish –ordering is done on our website. There are limited dinners available for purchase at the door so get your orders in early. Liz Czoop and Lori Sauls are chairing this event.
WREATH & POINSETTIA SALE
This is CHS Music Department fundraiser. Sales run from November 1 – 7, with pick up of the items on November 29, at CHS with centerpieces in December with our vendor, Lavocats. Profits from each student’s sales go into their trip account. Order forms for this sale are sent home with the student’s music teacher. Amy Furminger is the chair for this event
MEAT RAFFLE
New this year in late January or early February. We are in the planning stages of this event. We will have opportunities for families to donate a basket for a raffle held at the event. We will also be looking for donations for a Door prize or 2 if we have enough donations. We will also be looking for donations of Lottery Tickets for this event. Mark Morgado and Darcy Ryan are chairing this event and would welcome more volunteers to help plan.
FISH FRY
Our 4th annual Fish Fry will be held Friday March 1. Proceeds from this event go to enrichment for the bands and the Kleinhans’ concert. Liz Czoop and Lori Sauls are chairing this event.
SPECTRUM CONCERT BAKE SALE, RAFFLES & 50/50 RAFFLE
This fundraiser benefits the general fund and is used to pay expenses from the Band Banquet. Donations of baked goods,(packaged two items to a bag) are accepted from Band Families for a snack bar held in the hallway outside the gymnasium. We also have a Basket Raffle and Gift Card Raffle for a $5 donation. In the past we have had a Chinese auction of items donated by local businesses. Current Band students help us sell 50/50 tickets. Spectrum Concert is in June.
SUMMER REFRESHMENT STAND
Band families are given the opportunity to sign up for a date in July or August to host the refreshment table at the Clarence Summer Orchestra Concerts. Usually, two to three families will work together. At the end of the summer, the profits are divided between the families. Each week we sell baked goods and other items to the crowd at the concerts. Families are responsible for setting up the table, making coffee, providing baked goods, and replenishing any items that may need it. ( Purchase of these items are reimbursed.) Concert dates can be found at www.clarenceconcert.org
